FAQs

How old are the grape vines?

The Lake Erie Grape Belt is home to the oldest and largest Concord grape growing region in the world. While the Concord variety was not developed until 1849, the first grape seedlings were brought to this area by Elijah Fay in 1818. Dr. Thomas Welch and his son, Charles, founded the first grape juice production facility in Westfield, NY in 1897.
